An extended stay hotel could be your best bet

Whether you’re planning a short trip or a long stay, an extended stay hotel could be your best bet. They offer all the amenities of a hotel, but with a cheaper price. In addition to a furnished room, they usually provide a fully stocked kitchen, utilities, and recreational facilities. Usually, an extended stay hotel is located in a city center, with nightlife and attractions nearby.

Extended stay hotels have been a growing segment of the hospitality industry for about 20 years. Despite the recession, the market continues to grow. The average extended stay guest spends five to 25 nights.

While they are often marketed to certain groups, such as families with small children or retirees, they also attract business travelers. Business travelers can find perks like a workstation or per diem pay.

Unlike traditional hotels, extended stay properties are compact and offer more space. Some even have separate living areas, kitchens, and working spaces. However, they may lack the “pizazz” of a luxury hotel.

Eco-hotels are hotels that aim to protect the environment and community. These hotels implement innovations that reduce energy consumption, save water, and minimize their carbon footprint. They use organic products and biodegradable containers, and incorporate reusable materials into their operations.

An authentic eco-hotel embraces the principles of sustainability and cares for the environment, animals, and local communities. Ideally, it will have a community giving back program, a code of conduct, and may have other eco-friendly initiatives.

In addition to reducing the hotel’s environmental impact, an authentic eco-hotel will make the most of its resources, such as local suppliers and staff. It will also seek to engage its guests in its green practices.

There are many different types of eco-hotels, from Eco lodges to all-inclusive resorts. Typically, the hotel will be located in a natural setting, such as a lake or a protected area. Some hotels are even built by indigenous tribes in protected areas.

Sustainable hotels are becoming increasingly popular with travelers. These hotels not only reduce their environmental footprint, but they make a strong financial contribution to the community.
